My New Information Technology Blog!

As you know, I am in Info Tech right now, and it's one of my favourite classes, I have a lot of fun in that class. :P The people in the class, and the things we do. :P Today, we started a blog - http://eloit8.edublogs.org/

It has not posts in it right now, I was gonna do one today, but we ran out of time. I did get started on it though.

Note that this is blogger, and the blogging program we use for Info Tech is Edublogs. Edublogs is way more confusing than Blogger, but I can still understand it. :P But I really like Blogger.

Onomatopoeia Poem! :D

I did an Onomatopoeia poem for English, here it goes:

I hear...
The tapping of the keyboard,
The click of the mouse,
The banging on the computer table,
And The pop on the Facebook Chat.

yea, It's a short poem. :P

My Piano Lessons...and Views! :D

 I want to talk about my piano lessons, because most of my posts, tweets,and statuses just say something like ,"GRRRRRRRRRr piano lessons! >:( :P" or something like that, but I never do explain my piano lessons.In this post, I'm going to explain what I do during my piano lessons, and what.

Usually my piano lessons are Mondays. 7-9 pm. I get an hour, and my sister gets an hour, but my sister is doing a Grade 10 Piano Exam which is in like...4 weeks, and she spent over $300 on it, so she wants to pass, so now, currently I get 45 minutes, and my sister gets 1 hour and 15 minutes. Some people in my school play piano, like Teagan, who only goes to piano lessons every second week. I go to piano lessons every week. Unless its a holiday, like Victoria Day. ;) Well, anyways, my mom usually picks us up at 6:48 (ish), my sister gets the house keys, the piano books, and some homework or ... something to do while the other person is having piano lessons. Usually I bring my iPod Touch with my earphones, or if I have homework or a test tomorrow (Tuesday) then I bring it too. We get into the car, and it takes 6+ minutes to drive to our piano teacher's house. When we are finally in the house, we take off our shoes, and go down the stairs to the piano studio in her house.

We take turns going first, my sister would go first for 1 week, and then I would go first for 1 week., etc, etc, etc,
Well, let's pretend I'm going first:
Sol I get my piano binder, my grade 8 book, and my notebook that my piano teacher writes on for what I have to do each week, etc, etc, etc, for every piece, etc. I sit on the piano bench, and we usually start with Technique. Technique is Scales, etc.  Major and Minor Scales, Arpeggios, Four Note Broken, Diminish and Dominate 7's, triads, formulas, etc.
We spent, about 10 minutes on it, next we do Sightreading.

Sightreading is playing a piano piece that you've never played before, its just to test your reading and stuff. It's actually not that hard. :) My sightreading book is purple. :\  :P

Anyways, next up is usually ear training, which is like Intervals, Major and Minors, Perfect and Plagal, etc.
You use your ears to hear what is being played, etc, etc, etc.

Sightreading and Ear training take about 7 minutes each. My ear training is in a tape.

:P

Anyways, most of the lessons is on my pieces, which I spend about 40 + minutes on. Right now I have 3-4 pieces I'm playing, my pieces are either in my binder or in my purple Grade 9 Book.

But even though I'm in grade 9, im doing grade 8 right now because I have to do the exam for it, so that I can get credits for it for high school, if you know what that means. (When you're in Grade 10-12 in school you'll understand what I mean)

And then, when 45-60 minutes are up, I go to the sofa/or chair, and do my homework or go on my iPod Touch. I wait patiently for my sister to finish her lesson, and then we leave!


And that's how my piano lessons go!

I'm actually quite surprised that there is 761 views on blog, even thought its just probably me, and my best friends: Aaron, Teagan, Caleb, Ashley...reading it...and maybe (hopefully) some other people... I hope. Honours!

Honour Classes are classes for smart people. Well, it only occurs in the main subjects, I think - like English, Math, Science and Socials. The top 30 kids in the grade get to go the the "smart" class next year.

Well today I got a letter from PGSS that I am in honors class!

For Math, English, and Social Studies!

I'm really happy. But I'm kinda sad that I'm not in the honor classes for Science. I didn't do that bad, I got 86% first term, 79% second term, 90% in the final exam, 84% Overall.

My SCHOOL Day - May 18, 2010

Today is May 18, 2010 which is my sister's birthday.

Anyways, I woke up with the sound of my loud alarm clock, and I immediately went on Echofon, a Twitter application for my iPod Touch - 16gb. I read all the latest tweets, and I put my iPod away. I got dressed, went to the bathroom, etc. and I got out, and I walked to the kitchen to eat my breakfast. I was forced to say Happy Birthday to my sister, and I sat down to eat. I drank my water, and ate cereal. (Alpha Bits)   YUM! I really like Alpha Bits..how about you? When I finished eating I was really full, and ... I did the usual stuff, and I got ready to leave. There was kinda a lot of cars near my house, so all the cars drove SO slow! I was late. As usual. It feels really bad to be late, I really HATE being late. :( Especially when everyone's jogging to the tennis courts. :P) I quickly got changed, (BTW, my first class was gym) and I ran outside, with Manraj, Jeremy and some others, but I quickly caught up to Devin, Damon and Chase. My leg was in pain today, I'm not sure why though, it only occurred during gym though, when I was running. :P I was almost last going to the tennis courts. I played tennis with Manraj and them, but they were pretty much fooling around. So warm-up wasn't so good. We practiced with Back-hand and just plain hitting, and we also did serving. I don't really like backhand. :P Serving is easy for me. After like...50 minutes, we jogged back. I easily beat most people, I finished second. And I didn't even try!

Well, I got changed, and went to my locker to put my stuff away..:D

After Gym was break, it was pretty boring; at break.

After break was English.
I went to my locker, and got my English Binder, and Catching Fire,  a book that I borrowed from my awesome friend Teagan (Thanks Teagan :D) - (She has a blog - http://teagansgalaxy.blogspot.com/ Check it out NOW)

I went into the English class, and sat down to my usual spot. I then saw a whole bunch of people from my class start to walk in, I saw Devin walk in, Dalan walk in with his Red Binder, then...Chloe...then Ashley...and then Teagan, and then...some other people. For silent reading, I read ... about 2 pages of Catching Fire, and then I decided to grab The Outsiders instead because we have a test on it. I turned and saw Teagan reading Evil Genius, and Dalan reading Out in the Ashes. And a lot of people reading The Outsiders. I was one of them.

I started with Chapter One, ... and I realized that there was a lot of foreshadowing! In Chapter 1, it said -"They had scared him that much. He would kill the next person who jumped him." 

Wow!

Well, anyways Silent reading was over, and I got the test. I was stressing about the test, because I thought it would be difficult. I was wrong.

It was pretty easy.

I started with the multiple choice, and then I did the written part. I finished, and handed it in, and started reading Catching Fire. Catching Fire so far isn't so exciting, because I haven't gotten to the exciting (hopefully there's SOME action) part yet. I'm still at the part where they travel in every district. :P

I'm slow.

The bell rang, I went to my locker, and got some money and a granola bar. :P and bought some food. :P
I chilled with Dalan...and Aaron, because I didn't want to walk to Future Shop with Manraj. :P

After lunch, I had Math. I was one of the first people to walk in again. lol We had a 11 page TEST! I finished the first page of the Bonus questions.

Basically the whole Math class was the test.

We didn't do anything else.
I'm going to finished it tomorrow.


The next, and final class was Info Tech, my FAVOURITE class! We worked on All The Right Type, a typing  thing..., and I beat my record, 105 WPM with 0 Errors! Yay :)

I'm almost finished it, the teacher is wondering what I should do after I'm done. :P

We worked on spreadsheets the whole class, I know this sounds nerdy, but I really like entering the formulas in the Excel program. :P hahahahahaha

Well, overall my day was alright, ttyl - bye!

Yep, it is! It's a gift from my dad! It doesn't have any batteries in it, so it doesn't work. You have to feed it a bone! A fake bone, and it would chew on it, and then his eyes would be happy. And then, you have to feed him 3 times a day! I haven't played with him for a long time. Although its a children's toy, it is still an impressive piece of technology! It also has moods, happy, sad, tired, etc. It's really intelligent!

When he is happy, he looks like the picture above. :)

My Day:

I woke up, at 7:30, and texted Teagan, went on Twitter. (All on my iPod Touch) I did my usual stuff, ate breakfast, brush my teeth, etc. For breakfast, I had a bagel again. I'm getting sick of the bagels!

At school, I had Info Tech first - We worked on Spreadsheets! It was pretty fun.

Math - We skipped it, we had a gang presentation done by some police officiers. I actually learned a lot! :)

Lunch - Mount Robson Meeting - Graonola Bar, Cookie.

English - Talked, worked on project, listened to sub. 

French - Sub, Nothing Interesting. Silent Ball, Quiz. :(

Anyways, sorry for the short My Day post so far - After school I went on the computer, and is now talking to my favourite people to talk to:

My Virus hasn't attacked for a while!, and my day

Yay! My Virus hasn't attacked for a long time, it may be gone! And it is completely erased from my computer~ YAY! I'm so happy!

My Day: I woke up, and immediately texted Teagan! That was the first thing on my mind...maybe. :) lol
I ate breakfast, a blueberry bagel, and went to Info Tech. We had a substitute. Awe :( But the substitute was nice. I finished my Avatar, mine looks like me! :D maybe because the site in Asian. haha. And then after, Clay, Pippin, and I worked together for the Scavenger Hunt, I replied to Teagan's email, smiling. :D lol. We finished our scavenger hunt, not sure if its correct or not though, but Clay is smart. :) haha

After Info Tech, is break, I rudely borrowed Teagan's Catching Fire. I asked for it rudely, and I walked away after. So right now I'm gonna apologize: Sorry Teagan, I'll try my best not to do that ever again! Sorry Teagan, forgive me! :D haha - Sorry. :( Maybe I'm shy sometimes. Sorry. :(








Well, anyways, at Math, I read Catching Fire...about 45 pages~! :) Haha - math - I got 100% finally on a quiz! I'm so happy. What did you get Teagan? Haha - Math was alright, I talked to Dalan...Devin. Haha

Math, we kept on learning about Algebra, solving equations.


Next was lunch, I stayed at school, ate a granola bar...thats it! :(

I had English next...I have homework, thanks for reminding me...lol! I watched the Outsiders movie! It was alright. :|  I give it 5/10


Last was gym, we had a sub. I think subs screw up the whole thing, we didn't get to play tennis. :( We played California Kickball, and a run. Teagan beat me! Congrats! lol - Pippin beat me too. I had a stomach cramp, not lying. :D lol

Anti Malware Doctor!

Anti Malware Doctor is a fake anti-virus thing that is actually a virus! I have it right now, I'm trying to remove it, every 5 minutes, it'll freeze my computer for 2 minutes, telling me I have a virus! :(  It's forcing me to buy it, but obviously, I;m avoiding!

This is what it says: Warning! Removed attack detected!

My Metalworks Balancing Man

I'm doing this post - because I want to you how my balancing man looks like that I made in Metalworks, a while quite back. My balancing man balances, obviously, - its blue - I think I got 85% on it. It kinda sucks.

How to PRETEND to hack a website.

I got the idea of this post from Teagan's suggestion, Cool Computer Tricks. I didn't want to list them all, but I did found a really cool one!

This is how to PRETEND to hack a website, it doesn't really hack it, and it only works on YOUR computer. So you ask someone to go to your computer, and you show them the FAKE page, and they will be shocked. I'm going to show you a example, and teach you how!

IMPORTANT: Note: This DOES NOT Affect the website content at all. What you change is only visible on YOUR computer. Then as soon as you refresh the page it will be back to normal FOR YOU TOO.

I didn't really hack the website a lot, just a little. The website I chose to PRETEND hack was Teagan's Galaxy.

This is only to PRANK friends, it doesn't affect anything AT ALL. Once you refresh your page, its normal again.

How to:

1. Go to the desired webpage. (Example - http://teagansgalaxy.blogspot.com/)
2. Wait for it to fully load.
3. Copy and Paste this code javascript: document.body.contentEditable = 'true'; document.designMode = 'on'; void 0 to the URL bar. The URL bar is the bar that you type the website address in. 
4. Hit enter or go! 
5. Now you can edit. You can underline some text, delete it, and write in your own thing, or stuff, just backspace, and edit!
6. Copy and Paste this code - javascript: document.body.contentEditable = 'false'; document.designMode = 'off'; void 1 to the URL bar so that the page is UNEDITABLE. (You can't edit it anymore) Call your friends over, and fool them! It will look realistic, because you can't edit it anymore.
7. If you refresh the page, it goes back to normal, or just go back to the regular URL. So when your done do that, lol. 

Well, that's it. Instead of fooling friends, you can use this tip to remove annoying adds. 

Again, for the millionth time, this doesn't affect the real site, it's just a prank so that you can go like ,"What 
happened to your blog?" or ... "Woah...YouTube is so different!" Etc, etc, etc!

Re: My Weekend:

If you consider Friday as part of the weekend, mostly at Friday, I talked to Teagan and Aaron for most of the day, lol. And I watched Chinese TV. (TVB) Well Saturday: I woke up, went on the computer. Then I went shopping with my Mom - Costco and Superstore, for about 3 hours! We spent a lot of money. After I went shopping, I practiced piano, and then I played a little bit of Wii, and then I got on the computer. And hopefully later tonight, I'll get to watch a movie. Hopefully. Sunday, will be a family day, I would play piano  do my homework, etc. maybe go out and go to Walmart, or some other place, and maybe we'll eat at a fancy (?) restaurant. And then we might do something (hopefully) fun after.

It may not be all true, but it is very convincing! I think it would be easier for someone to understand all of it if they read the books Angels and Demons, and The Da Vinci Code, and The Lost Symbol.
Or at least watch those movies. :P It talks about the Illuminati, and the Freemasons, etc. The blogs talks about Symbols, symbolic stuff, and I recommend everyone check it out!

Now, I'm going to talk about my cut yesterday, as that was the only interesting thing that happened. Jk.

Well, I'm not even sure how I even got the cut, but my index finger was really cold. I looked at it, and I saw that it was bleeding dark red blood, and it was dripping EVERYWHERE. I washed it, and then I cleaned up the mess. My finger was still bleeding. :( I decided to put a bandaid,  , right? So I went back, but it was bleeding so bad, that the whole band aid was soaked in blood, and dripping. :P So I took it off, but some Liquid Bandaid -  but the liquid instantly turned red, mixed with blood. So I decided to put some New Skin on it.  It stings! A LOT! ...and then I put another haha yep, another bandaid over top!

LOL now its all fine...sorry for such a short post, bye!

My first day at Information Technology 8.

                I entered the Info Tech class with nothing but a book. I saw my teacher, and a whole bunch of my classmates. I decided to sit at the right. When I sat down, I saw that Liam Kroeker sat to my left, and then Tyler sat the left of Liam. To the right I saw Aaron sitting to my right. I grabbed the Outsiders, and began reading, even though I already finished it. I had a headache. I began reading my book, and this was only the start of Info Tech 8.


                  As you know, or may not know, today was the first day of Information Technology. While I was reading my silent reading book, I saw Manraj and Sonu mouth,"Come sit here with us!" I thought ,"After silent reading" As I was pretending to read, I thought of Devin, and Teagan, and Travis - on how they are having a lot of fun at Metalworks, hopefully. I was excited for Info Tech to officially begin; the twenty minutes of silent reading was like torture and seemed as if it was hours.


                  Info Tech officially began! Aaron and Brandon followed the teacher to get their thing fixed so they could actually log in. Which meant 20+ minutes of free time! I didn't check my e-mail yet, I impatiently waited. I went on the Internet, and played some games, and went on Google Earth. When they all came back, I moved to sit next to Manraj and them. Aaron followed. Now I regret it.


                   We began, by Mr. Rice teaching us all about the drives on My Computer, and we had to make a file on Notepad about Important Info. I opened my e-mail, and the teacher said it was from Teagan Parke.  Everyone was like oooooOOOOOoooooOOOOOooooo >:( And a lot of rumors spread, but I now figure that I don't mind them. Surprisingly Info Tech passed by quick, because that's it! We did very few things!

What Should I Bring to Mount Robson?, and Mechanics!

This is just a really random post about what I should bring to Mount Robson.

Well, even I'm not sure, so...I'm going to try! I'm going to categorized them into the four food groups, Bread, Dairy, Meat, and Veggies/Fruits

Well-
Bread: I'm thinking of bringing a bagel (maybe not, im not sure(, maybe - cookies, crackers, and granola bars.
Kraft Dinner - Macroni and Cheese?

Dairy:  Maybe...cheese, like Babybel Cheeses!

Meat: Beef Jerky, I'm not sure, what should I bring for Meat?

Veggies/Fruit: Dried Fruit, and I'm not really sure what else to bring, maybe carrot sticks? I don't know. :P

So now, I'm going to link another post, a post about Mechanics:

Tomorrow is the LAST DAY of Mechanics. I don't really like Mechanics, I don't understand anything at all. I think I'm getting between 80-86%, which isn't too bad, considering the fact that I failed the test. The test was really hard, I remember, I got an entire page wrong, the labelling pliers page. :P When we actually do engine work, it's either I do all of the work, or none. I'd rather be in Info Tech, because I really like computers, not engines. I don't think I'm ever going to take Mechanics again. It's not the class, or the teacher, its actually the course that I hate. I just don't like engine work. I do not understand any of the information in the textbook either.

It's actually embarrassing to me, because everyone seems to get it, except for a few people who don't care. I'm really excited for Info Tech at Friday, because I love computers, and we get to do graphs, blogs, and I already know how to use the school email, because I talk to Teagan a lot at the email. lol. My teacher says that tomorrow we'll do something FUN for Mechanics tomorrow, I wonder what that is :P

My Thoughts on Homework, Racism, and My Day!

You come home with 3 binders, which means 3 subjects with homework. You moan and groan as you think about doing your English, and your Math worksheets, and you certainly don't want to do that poster in French.

Today I'm going to talk about Homework. Homework is basically everything that you didn't learn or do at School.

I don't think homework is good or bad, because it can be both, but mainly Homework is there for you to learn.

There is an old phrase that is ,"Give me a fish and I'll eat for today, but teach me to fish and I can eat forever."

Currently I have lots of homework today, and maybe I'm just lazy, but I'm not liking my homework, I don't think anyone likes homework.
I think homework is learning something, and it should be good, but I guess, no one likes it.

Homework prepares you for the work in the future, your job, tests, quizes, and the exams, which is why it is a good thing.

What are your thoughts on Homework?

Racism:

What is Racism? Well, Racism is judging someone by the race. If you do, then you are Racist.

For me, I am not racist. I don't judge people by their race, but I know many people probably judge ME by MY race. It feels really awkward, because I'm the only Oriental, Asian in the school. Well, maybe not, but whatever.

There can sometimes be racism in books, or movies.

In my opinion, I am usually not offended by it, but sometimes...well...lol! Sometimes I admit racism can be pretty funny, but usually Racism is not a positive thing. 

I really hope that someday people will say that there is only one race, the human race!

Because I think its unfair to the people that are different that you, because they're just people. Stereotypes are usually aren't true, I don't see how a person can differ from other people that much, Chinese people don't just eat egg rolls, and rice - they don't eat it everyday! They eat KFC, and McDonalds too! And Noodles, curry, we're normal people too! And I'm sure Indians don't just eat curry...

And the last post is... My Day:

I haven't done one for such a long time!

So I woke up, and ate breakfast, etc - but I didn't notice, because I saw the time was 8:34! Uh Oh. I was sure I was going to be late for sure. I was. I went to my locker, and quickly went to the Math Class! I saw the time was 8:44!

I walked in the door, I remembered seeing Dillion, Aaron, Scott, then Devin, Dalan, Sonu, Olin, Teagan...James... and then I sat to my normal seat. Math was alright, we did some work on... Evaluating Equations - (Algebra). It was pretty easy for me. 

Math passed by really slowly, I talked to Teagan once, lol! After Math was break - and I didn't really do much, I was just hanging around Devin, Aaron, Jeremy, Dalan...Hmmm... Well after Math was...Mechanics. :P

Mechanics - We did an assignment about making your own tool box. That's it. There were free cucumbers, but I didn't eat it. Silent reading : I'm reading Hunger Games, and it's really good! I'm at the part where she teams up with Rue! It's so suspenseful, I was reading it the whole class! :) 

Next was lunch, I didn't eat ANYTHING! BTW, I'm excited for the Mount Robson practice hike tomorrow!

Haha! I went on the computer and replied to Teagan's email!

Lunch was pretty boring.

Next was French, and it was pretty interesting, had interesting conversations with Manraj and Jeremy. We have to make a disgusting sandwich, and I barely started. Teagan said she's going to put Justin Bieber in it, haha :P! 

Lastly was English, my favorite class of the day. We have a lot of homework now! :( I'm getting really good grades for ...English! I'm really happy. I talked with Dalan, Teagan, and chloe the whole class pretty much.

How To: The New Blogger Template Designer

This is a short how to on how to use the new Blogger Template Design. My current template right now is from the new Blogger Template Designer - theres so many to choose from - 15 templates, hundreds of backgrounds, very easy to customize!  Here we go!

First go to www.draft.blogger.com

Notice the draft part. There is not difference between draft and normal kind of blogger, but draft includes all the cool new features like this one - the Template Designer. 

Now, you should be on the Blogger in draft: Dashboard. 

At the section, "Manage Blogs" click on the Layout button, which is between Settings and Monetize. 

Now look at the top, there is a button to the right of Pick New Template, called Template Designer. Click on that.

Now you should be at the Template Designer. There are 4 categories - Template, Background, Layout, and Advanced.

The templates are Simple, Picture Window, Awesome Inc., and Watermark.

Simple: There is a simple blue, simple orange, simple gray, a simple tanish colour, and a rough simple colour.

Picture Window: They have a nature blue one, a red one, and a rainy one.

Awesome Inc,: They have a Awesome Dark Gray, Awesome Light Gray, Awesome Orange, Awesome Green. (Thats the one I'm using)

Watermark: They have a oak - tan colour one with birds, a dark red one with a map, a light blue, and a pink.

Now click underneath Templates, which is Backgrounds.

At the window under Background image, there is a arrow, click it, and there is a list of backgrounds - HUNDREDS!

There are tons of backgrounds to choose from. And everything you click, there is a preview at the bottom.

The one I'm using right now is Awesome Inc - The Green One - with the water background which is listed at Beauty and Health. 

There are a lot of backgrounds to choose from.

Now when you're done - click Layout - which is under Background.

It's basically how you want your blog to be like - one column, two column, three column, etc. The light gray part of the picture is your blog posts, and the dark gray part is the gadgets.

Underneath Body Layout is Footer Layout and Adjust Width. You can play around with those settings. The preview is always underneath! :)

The last section is Advanced.

You can choose your fonts, colours, if you mess up at the advanced settings, click on the blue link, Clear advanced changes to page. And theres a "Remove Customizations" link.

At Page, you can edit the font, and the colour, there's actually quite a lot, you can play around with them! :D

Theres a lot of categories in Advanced: Page, Links, Blog Title, Tabs Text, Tabs Background, Date Header, Post Title, Gadget Text, Gadget Background, Images, Feed Links, and lastly, Add CSS.

Theres a lot of options in each of those categories.

Well that's about it - I want to see if you can come up with anything good. I hope your new template will be better than mine! :)
