My trip to Calgary

As you may know, I went to Calgary, which is why I haven't been posting for a long time, so I'm am attempting to tell you my trip to Calgary as much detail as possible. Well, let's see - I woke up at 8:00 AM - I remembered the night before, we were trying to get out of the house by 10:00 AM, Well, I woke up, and I saw someone on the computer, and it was my sister - so I kinda told her to get off MY computer, and I went on instead, I went on Facebook, etc. Well, my dad was still sleeping, and my mom was getting ready. Well, first I packed up, I packed my pajamas, toothbrush, toothpaste, clothes, socks, etc, and more, and I put it in 1 big bag. Then I ate breakfast, which I made oatmeal. And after that, it was almost 10 AM already, so I waited, and waited, and my dad woke up, and he packed some stuff. 15 minutes later, my sister, me, and my dad just sat at the living room watching tv, and (me) going on the iPod. My mom was not yet ready. And practically, we waited for 1 HOUR! for her to finish, and then she packed stuff, so we didn't leave the house until like 11:30 AM! I brought my iPod Touch as well. So we went to the car, and drove to Tim Hortons, where my dad got his coffee. (Extra Large Double Double) (Oh yeah, my dad is the one that's driving, with my mom at the front seat, me at the middle row seats on the right, and my sister on the middle seats at the left) Then my dad drove to downtown, and then towards Purden Skiing Place and just kept going East and Northeast ish, to Calgary. Well of course, we stopped at the last Prince George Gas Station to go to the washroom and stuff. I turned my iPod to shuffle, and listened to it for a while, (more like the whole trip) 300 songs should be enough, but I took occasional breaks. My sister had her iPod shuffle, and my mom was eating her vegetables, drinking milk and sesame paste, and fruit. My dad was driving around 100 mph, which is pretty slow, if you think about it. 2 hours later, we arrived at McBride, and we went to the washroom again, and then we had some conversations, with my family. McBride to Jasper was basically just trees from left to right, boring!  Then, about 3 hours later, we arrived at Jasper, where went to the washroom AGAIN. And then we went from Jasper to Banff which took like 2 hours. We stopped at the gas station in Banff, and we also went to a restaurant - a Korean restaurant called Seoul Country. It was REALLY busy - the restaurant was small, and it was crowded with...nope...not Korean people but...CHINESE PEOPLE. I'm not kidding, all I heard was Cantonese conversations! I was eavesdropping on the conversations, lol! As you know, I don't really like KOREAN food. It's really spicy! Especially the kimchi, which is super spicy, which is pickled Korean Sui Choy (Asian Napa Cabbage) It's suppose to be green, but it was RED. So, yeah it was really spicy. Well, it's just a side dish, so let me tell you what I ate, cause I recorded it down just for my blog followers :) Here, we went there at 7:00 pm just to let you know. Anyways, we ate Rice, Pancakes, and this Beef BBQ Wrap. Well, the rice was steamed, and it had these vegetables and beef. Well, that's what it said on the menu. It had barely any beef. Almost none. And it was tasteless. Even my family was kinda like Huh? I've been to this Korean Restaurant before, at my first time to Calgary, this is my 3rd time to Calgary. Well, we had the same rice before, and it was like that too, it had barely beef. But obviously, my family forgot about the cheap quantities, except me. I was the only one that didn't want to go. Well, anyways, my family was kinda disappointed by the little amount of beef. Like, really little. But because it was tasteless, I mixed it with some Kimchi, which I didn't know it was THAT spicy. So I regret it. Next I ate was the pancakes. (Oh wait, I forgot to mention that the food came about 10 minutes after we ordered, that's pretty good :)!) The pancakes, aren't the pancakes that you're probably thinking right now, they aren't sweet, they are salty - they are called Seafood Pancakes. It was a little bit too burnt. But, inside it had some of the pancake part, like the bread part (the part that was burnt), and the bread part wasn't sweet, and inside it had eggs, scallops, shrimp, and octopus. (Cooked) It was not bad. Pretty good. Next was the BBQ Beef Wrap - The beef was BBQ'ed right in front of us, well, my dad did it, cause the waiter left it there (that's not a bad thing, that's how the Korean Restaurant's do it, it's their Traditional style, I think) I ate some of the beef without the wrap part. Well, you're suppose to wrap it inside the uncooked lettuce, put some sweet & spicy sauce in it (yum) and then wrap it, and then put it over the fire BBQ thing for like 45 seconds, and I did on some, and it was actually pretty good, I have to admit! :) Well, the whole meal cost us 70 DOLLARS! Well, anyways, when we came out of the restaurant, it was already pretty dark out, and it took us like almost 3 hours to arrive at Calgary! (From Banff to Calgary - 3 hours) Well, I was happy when we arrived at Calgary - and right away we went to our Hotel. That's it. Our hotel was called Hotel Arts. I slept with my dad and my sister with my mom. Our hotel was pretty nice, it had 2 comfortable Queen-sized beds, pretty cool curtains, with a nice balcony with a nice view of Calgary, 32" wall-mounted Plasma TV, Italian bamboo tile bathroom with Spa Rain Shower, Aveda Bath Supplies, a desk, a phone, alarm clock, and internet access that didn't work :( I watched some TV before I slept, but I forgot what I watched, oh wait I think it was something about Ghosts, ...uggghh creepy...it freaked me out! I slept about 12:00 - MIDNIGHT and I woke up 10:00 the next morning, and we got out of the hotel around 11:30 (?) and we went straight to a restaurant - CHINESE DIM SUM!!!!!!!!!!!! :) It was called Tai Pan and it was in Chinatown. It was really busy and loud. The food there wasn't great compared to other restaurants. I had some Ha Gau (Shrimp Dumpling), Siu Mai (kinda like dumpling) - Siumaai.jpg , some rice crepes (thick rice noodles), and some Beef Tripe (Beef Stomach - don't get grossed out :() oh, and we had some Black Sesame Filling Buns, looks like this - (All pictures from internet)

It was really good, but the black paste was waaayy more runnier than the picture above. It was so sweet, and bread was delicious! Well, I think the meal cost about $50. (For 4 of us) And then we went to a supermarket and spent like 1 hour there. It was called Tops 100. It was so boring, we bought some stuff. And then we decided to go to an ENGLISH, WESTERN mall. So we found one close by, called North Hill Center, which wasn't as I expected. It was like Pine Center Mall. Yep, pretty much, maybe worse.  The best store was Stitches :P and there was everything else that's in Pine Center, pretty much. So, my sister decided to go to Chinook Mall, which is waaaaay better - 15 minute drive from North Hill. It was huge, the mall - and it was kinda like Metrotown and West Edmonton Mall -  thats how it looks like.

Except even better and shinier than the above pic. Here - more like this -

It's the largest mall in Calgary. I bought some clothes, and we spent 3 and 1/2 hours there! And when we left it was 6:30! Well, anyways, the restaurant was a Chinese restaurant again, but it was not dim sum. And my dad ordered this dish which had toad in it. Yep, a toad. It was deep fried with peppers and salt - and I was so grossed out. Really grossed out - but I ate a little bit just to try - still creeped out. It kinda tastes like fish and chicken combined - soft meat, like fish, but tastes like Chicken. And salty and spicy of course. And there was other stuff too, like this other Beef Wrap which was really good, there was...bubble tea, but I HATE bubble tea, especially the black things :P gross! Uhhh what else was there? Vegetables (with sauce, of course) GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I forgot what I ate! :(  Oh, and keep in mind that in every restaurant we went to, we drank Chinese tea - (Tit Koon Yum) Well, anyways, after we ate we went to the hotel and we went to the fitness center there and we exercised - treadmill, bicycle, etc. while watching Tv. And after that, in the hotel we watched a chinese movie - Yes - a Chinese movie on the Calgary TV called Tactical Unit - The Code. It was alright, and after taking a shower, etc - I went to sleep - after I finish watching the CSI - Crime Scene Investigation Episode. Haha lol! Well, anyways, the next day: I woke up at 10:00 AM again, but we didn't leave the hotel until like noon - 12:00 PM! We went to a Chinese Restaurant for Dim Sum again - and it was so busy! We waited for like 20 minutes (in line) for a table - but we kinda budged and my mom was like complaining to the waiters for the wait. My mom was like "When's our table? We waited for a long time!"
Well, anyways, I feel sorry for an old Chinese couple I saw at the restaurant - they picked their food and stuff already - but I don't think the waiter passed it to the kitchen, so they waited for 1 hour - and still didn't get food. We sat down and ordered food, and we kept rushing the waiters. The old couple kept complaining to the waiters! They were like, "We waited for 1 hour, 1 HOUR!" We had food before them, cause even though we ordered, we just kinda got some food, cause waiters just come out with random food, and say ,"Who wants ________?" Etc, so yeah. After that, we went to Chinatown - actually we went to a mall in Chinatown called Dragon City Mall - {{{image_alt}}}

, well actually I wanted to tell you something very weird about Chinatown - It is that, almost every single store you go to in Chinatown, there are always something pornographic, which is weird. Like what happened if a 7 years old went in? (Which did happened) Like, there was a gift shop - that sells, gifts, pens, pencils, newspapers, books, etc. But there was pens with pictures of people with no clothes, and there was also some "adult" magazines.  And even in a DVD store, or even a supermarket!

Well - anyways, I did by some DVD's (NOT the adult ones) - They had Avatar already - did it already come out on DVD? Cause I bought it, and I'm not sure if its pirated or not... I'M SCARED... jk well anyways yeah.

My sister and my mom got a haircut in the mall, and me and my dad shopped for dvd's and food! cause there were no clothing in the mall. It took us like 3 hours! I really like going up the escalators! LOL!  For the food, we bought some snacks, and some drinks :) Then, we went to another mall, and my parents spent like 2 hours on T&T which is a chinese supermarket. After that, we ate dinner, which was a Vietnamese Restaurant, and we all ordered their tradition Vietnamese Noodles! :) And spring rolls for appetizer! Yummy! I ate very messy, and I think I might have ... (Teagan : don't read this:) I might have ate with my mouth opened! haha!

Well, anyways, after that, we went back to the hotel, and we went to the exercising place AGAIN. And then I went back to the hotel where I watched The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, and CSI (Again) And then I fell after I took a shower, etc, I fell asleep - and apparently I was snoring. :( >:(  Anyways, I woke up at 9:00 and I watched on Spike these Unsolved Mysteries, and it's so creepy, cause it was dark, the soundtrack was creepy! I'm still creeped out! :( Well, after I did my usual stuff, I left the hotel - and we went to the T&T Market AGAIN, and spent another 2 hours, and we spend another hour waiting for my mom and my sister to buy shoes. They bough 6 pairs of shoes! 3 pairs each! Oh yeah, the Japanese Tableware store was in the same mall as T&T, and that's where I got these mini cranes, that I hope Teagan will show in her new post for her blog which is - www.teagansgalaxy.blogspot.com Check it out! Anyways, my mom bargained, 4 pairs of shoes cost $120.00 And then we went to this place in Chinatown that sold Chinese Medicine, and we spent like $200 there! But my mom tried to bargain, she's really good at it, we saved $11. Not that much, I know, lol! And then we had to leave :( We drove to Banff again, to fill up the gas, and go to the washroom, then to Jasper, then to McBride and then to Prince George. If you're coming to Prince George at night, I have to admit there are a lot of lights from a distance, and it really looks like a huge city like Calgary or Vancouver, but when we go in Prince George, we're like oh. Haha- we arrived at Prince George at like ... 11:00 PM - and we were tired. Yep. I listened to my iPod too much I think, so my ear hurts right now :( . We had like 2 HUGE bags, and over 25 bags of food, dvds, and other stuff! Haha! Anyways, that;s about it, this post is long and I hope it wasn't too boring, BYE!!!!!!
